I just got through with a case involving two (2) best friends who had known each other, traveled the world, and lived most of their lives as “best friends”. They entered into an agreement to purchase property and because of the lack of communication, misunderstandings and failure to reduce their agreement to a clear written arrangement and follow-up on same, they ended up spending large sums of money on attorney’s fees litigating over the disputed property. Always remember to invest a little bit up front to get a clear understanding of what your agreement is and what your obligations are instead of spending a lot on an attorney later on when it turns into litigation.
